I am getting somewhere now with hatching technique...also drawing everyday helps with more seeing...sometimes the angles and contours come out perfectly well...sometimes there are errors and I do not try to change it even if I could I let them be...so that I can learn what mistakes I have done and rectify them...

Practising values,which is what I need in my drawings as my contours are in good place and dont have much problem with drawing what I see...Shading is what I must work on and do it well to render realistic textures and shades....

Practise andpersistence can get me where I want to be...I love to draw...It takes a lot of patience...a lot of deep observation to draw anything...One can draw a quick sketch or a detailed drawing...I can draw a detailed drawing...however I have not developed my patience much...So I finish it off fast..

Trying to Paint Nicole...

I never had much problems with drawing and as a kid no one discouraged me ever...when i was in school/college we had to draw a lot science studdents always get a lot to draw...so there I was enjoying my drawing there were so many friends that I had who never liked drawing much and they always made me draw in their books, well it was fun for me so I had no problems doing it for them...

As far as painitng goes...I was highly uncomfortable with colors and whenever I tried a painting it always ended up ugly and left me dissaitisfied with the results...So I never ventured much into painting...It's now that I understand that for a painting to be successful one needs to have a very good understanding of the" values and shadows" in a picture...This I wasnt aware of back then...Now when I pick up my brush to paint...I 'm lost in the negative spaces and my brain knows which color to use with which...how to make it better...I'm actually surprised that I did this...I'm happy to know that I can paint after all...If I painted everyday along with drawing...I'm sure I can improve a lot... I jus used cheap student watercolors...

We had a blast this new year...Danced all through the nite...My drawing took a break for 2 days I think and then I started drawing again...I realised that if one stops drawing it's easy to keep postponing it...So draw everyday...if you stop drawing start again...

I am also using my left hand to draw...It's fun.

Colored it with oil pastels...This painting was in Betty Edwards book,I used my own colors...I have a feeling that I can see more clearly when I am using my left hand to draw although rendering it becomes somewhat difficult as the left hand has never held a pen/pencil all its life.Drawing/writind need subtle wrist movements which the left hand has yet to learn...
