I never had much problems with drawing and as a kid no one discouraged me ever...when i was in school/college we had to draw a lot science studdents always get a lot to draw...so there I was enjoying my drawing there were so many friends that I had who never liked drawing much and they always made me draw in their books, well it was fun for me so I had no problems doing it for them...
As far as painitng goes...I was highly uncomfortable with colors and whenever I tried a painting it always ended up ugly and left me dissaitisfied with the results...So I never ventured much into painting...It's now that I understand that for a painting to be successful one needs to have a very good understanding of the" values and shadows" in a picture...This I wasnt aware of back then...Now when I pick up my brush to paint...I 'm lost in the negative spaces and my brain knows which color to use with which...how to make it better...I'm actually surprised that I did this...I'm happy to know that I can paint after all...If I painted everyday along with drawing...I'm sure I can improve a lot... I jus used cheap student watercolors...
